Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement: Spine Like A Chain

A gentle Feldenkrais class to improve spinal mobility, balance, and ease of movement

Time & Location

Mar 21, 2026, 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM

Bovina Public Library (Downstairs), 33 Maple Ave, Bovina Center, NY 13740, USA

About the event

The Bovina Public Library will host a Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement class taught by certified Feldenkrais practitioner Suzanne Ausnit.

This gentle, guided class explores small, mindful movements designed to improve posture, balance, and mobility. In this session, we’ll focus on increasing freedom in the spine, helping to release habitual holding patterns where the vertebrae may be compressed, stiff, or biased in one direction.

No prior experience is necessary. Curiosity and a willingness to pay attention to your movement are all you need. There will also be time for questions at the end of the class.

What to Bring

  • A thick yoga mat or moving blanket

  • Two large hand towels (for supporting the head and/or knees)

  • A Pilates ring, if you have one

Cost: The class is free, though donations to the library are always welcome.

RSVP Requested: Please RSVP by Friday afternoon if you plan to attend so Suzanne can prepare the class.

About the Feldenkrais Method?

The Feldenkrais Method helps improve posture, balance, and mobility by increasing awareness of how you move. Through small, gentle movements, participants learn to reduce strain, move more efficiently, and develop greater body awareness.
