Still Life Studio with Scott Hill
A paintbrush, a peculiar object, and a table full of surprises
Time & Location

Bovina Public Library, 33 Maple Ave, Bovina Center, NY 13740, USA
About the event
A bowl of citrus. A crooked candlestick. A ceramic bird with too much personality. In this relaxed, hands-on painting workshop, ordinary objects will become tiny dramas in color and light.
Join us for an evening spent discovering the pleasure of still life painting and unleash the happy power of your inner Picasso…or Bob Ross! Together, we’ll create a shared tabletop arrangement built from objects contributed by participants. Every painting will be completely different, shaped by your eye, your mood, and whatever strange or beautiful thing catches your attention.
No experience is necessary. Just bring one object to add to the collection: something colorful, curious, sentimental, textured, shiny, mysterious, or delightfully mundane. A teacup? A lemon? A toy dinosaur? We’re not asking questions.
Unlike the usual paint-n-sip studio formula, there’s no single image to copy and no pressure to “get it right.” This is a studio for experimentation, observation, and happy accidents.
All materials provided. Beginners warmly welcome.
Actual results may vary. Side effects may include unexpected pride in painting a pear.
