About the event

Please note: The Bovina Monologues will be held at the Bovina Community Hall, not at the Bovina Public Library.

What stories make a place feel like home?

Join us for The Bovina Monologues, a free staged reading featuring stories and reflections from more than 20 Bovina residents, gathered through interviews conducted over the summer.

Nine local actors will bring these stories to life, offering an intimate, funny, thoughtful, and distinctly Bovina portrait of small-town life. Guitarist John Houshmand will provide interstitial music throughout the performance.

“Storytelling is not only entertaining – it is an opportunity for openness and sharing that connects people,” said Pamela Benson, who created the project with Michelle Stern. “We’re excited to present stories that paint a unique and intimate picture of small-town life,” said Michelle Stern.

The evening is a collaboration between the Bovina Public Library, Pamela Benson, and Michelle Stern.

A reception will follow the performance.

Free admission. All are welcome.

This project is made possible with funding from the A. Lindsay and Olive B. O’Connor Foundation and the Delaware County Arts Grants, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature, and administered in Delaware County by the Roxbury Arts Group.
