There are a lot of ways to keep up with what's happening in Bovina. You can chat with a neighbor on a Friday evening at the farmers' market. You can linger a little longer at Russell's. Or, you can settle into a comfortable chair with the latest edition of the Bovina Newsletter.

The Summer 2026 issue is now available, and it's packed with stories, photos, community news, and a calendar full of reasons to leave the house (in the best possible way).

Inside this issue you'll find:

  • A look back at recent library events, including our Hitchcock film series and spring art workshops.

  • A preview of Local Landscapes, our new community art exhibition featuring ten local artists.

  • A profile of Rev. Deborah Jinhwa Lee, the new pastor at the Bovina United Presbyterian Church.

  • Updates from community organizations, local farms, schools, and businesses.

  • A comprehensive calendar of upcoming events through the fall, including Bovina Day, Farm Day, the Bovina Monologues, Farm Feast, and much more.

  • A fascinating history of Russell's General Store, one of Bovina's enduring landmarks.

One of our favorite things about the newsletter is that it isn't just about the library. It's about Bovina. Every issue brings together contributions from organizations, volunteers, businesses, historians, and neighbors who help tell the ongoing story of our community. It's a reminder that even in a small town, there's always more happening than you might think.

Whether you're a year-round resident, a weekend visitor, or simply someone who loves this corner of the Catskills, we hope you'll take a few minutes to browse the latest issue.

And if you have an event, story, organization, or business you'd like to see featured in a future issue, we'd love to hear from you. After all, the best community newsletters are written by the community itself.

Happy reading!
